Kathy’s Artist Statement
Similar to playing with blocks as a child, the enjoyment I get out of my work is mainly during the process. The product is a happy bonus. I enjoy mixing color and shapes as well as experimenting with new techniques. Because I enjoy the process so much, I don’t usually replicate pieces. If I do, I tend to get bored. This ensures that every piece you see of mine is a one-of-a-kind creation.
Kathy Wills has been working with polymer clay for many years. Growing up at a hobby shop, the first things she created were made for dollhouse miniatures. After attending college and taking fine arts classes, she further honed these skills to start making jewelry. The realm of possibilities with polymer clay is endless and Kathy considers herself in a state of perpetual learning. She is always trying new techniques and learning more about this versatile medium.
